Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Pure Escape models?

The Escape range shares a forward-facing riding position and IP65 water resistance, and differs in power, range and suspension. The Escape Pro+ Suspension adds dual suspension with GlideMotion™, a 1200W maximum motor and up to 60km of range. The Escape Ultra Max Suspension steps up to 1900W of maximum power and up to 75km of range, and is available to pre-order. The Escape is the entry point, with up to 44.1km of range and no suspension. See the Escape Pro+ Suspension discover page for more.

Which Escape scooter has the longest range?

The Escape Ultra Max Suspension reaches up to 75km (47 miles), the Escape Pro+ Suspension up to 60km (37 miles) and the Escape up to 44.1km (27.4 miles). Actual range varies with rider weight, terrain, gradients and weather.

How powerful are the Escape scooters?

The Escape has a motor with 924W maximum output, the Escape Pro+ Suspension 1200W and the Escape Ultra Max Suspension 1900W. All three have a top speed of 25km/h (15.5mph), so the extra power shows in how strongly you accelerate and how well you hold speed on hills.

Are Escape scooters good for hills?

Yes. The Escape handles gradients of up to 19%, the Escape Pro+ Suspension up to 23% and the Escape Ultra Max Suspension up to 36%.

What makes the Escape riding position different?

Escape scooters use a forward-facing riding stance, closer to how you stand on a bicycle.

Your feet sit side by side, lowering your centre of gravity and improving balance. The result is a more stable, controlled ride, especially when accelerating or cornering.

You feel it immediately. The scooter settles under you, rather than asking you to adapt to it.

Do Escape scooters have suspension?

The Escape Pro+ Suspension and Escape Ultra Max Suspension have dual suspension with GlideMotion™: front telescopic forks and a rear monoshock absorber that reduce vibration and soften bumps. The Escape has no suspension.

What is steering stabilisation and why does it matter?

The Escape Pro+ Suspension and Escape Ultra Max Suspension have Active Steering Stabilisation™, and the Escape has Pure Control™ steering stabilisation. Both reduce sudden side-to-side handlebar movement, helping keep the scooter stable at speed and over uneven surfaces.

What tyres do Escape scooters use?

Every Escape model uses 10 inch tubeless tyres. The larger size improves comfort and traction, while the tubeless design reduces the risk of flats and keeps maintenance simple.

Are Escape scooters waterproof?

Yes. All Escape models are IP65-rated for water resistance.

They are designed to handle wet roads and rain, giving you confidence to ride in typical British conditions.

How long do Escape scooters take to charge?

The Escape takes around 6 hours to charge and the Escape Pro+ Suspension approximately 5.2 hours.

How much do the Escape scooters weigh, and what can they carry?

The Escape weighs 19.0kg, the Escape Pro+ Suspension 21.8kg and the Escape Ultra Max Suspension 26.0kg. All three support riders up to 120kg, including anything you carry.

What safety features are included in the Escape range?

The Escape range is engineered for controlled, confident riding.

Key features include steering stabilisation, drum and KERS braking, high-visibility lighting and a robust frame design. The Escape Ultra Max Suspension also adds a rear disc brake.

Each element works together to keep the ride predictable, even on longer or faster journeys.
